BH Mallorca, well what can I say, first of all I had an amazing time and thank you so much for making it so special. All in all, it’s one of those hotels where you read the reviews and you automatically think you've made the wrong choice and then you get there and it’s not as bad as trip advisor says. I’m a person who relies on people’s trip advisor reviews to make my decisions on a hotel but for this one I just gave it the benefit of the doubt. So, I thought in return I should write a truthful review for anyone else wanting to stay here.
Arrival:
We arrived at the hotel at 2.30pm and upon arrival we were hit with a 30€ pp deposit and 23€ pp tourism tax which we weren’t notified about prior to arrival, which as you can imagine was quite irritating as before you’ve even had time to explore you’ve spent €100 (there was 2 of us). It would have been nice if the hotel or JET2 had let us know in advance just so we could factor that into our expenditure. After signing papers and getting our key we were then told our room wouldn’t be ready until 3.30pm but that we could go and have lunch while we wait, which we did.

Room:
The room we stayed in was pretty decent and fairly spacious, if i'm honest the rooms are more like mini suites. Theres a living area with two single beds, a pullout bed, a Tv and a fridge. In our suite the TV didn't work and we couldn't sign into netflix either wihich was inconvenient. The lounge are had sliding doors which led to the balcony, which for us was lucky enough to have a view of the island beach pool. Adjacent to the living area is the bedroom which as you can see has an open wardrobe and a mirror. We specified for a double room but their double room consisted of two single beds pushed together with separate sheets (pretty much a twin room). From the bedroom you also have sliding doors to lead out onto the balcony which is handy. Last but not least is the bathroom, The toilets are fairly annoying as you have to hold them down for them to flush properly but on the other hand the shower is amazing, very spacious, powerful and stays at the temperature you want it to be.
Magaluf & Hotel Location:
The location of this hotel in my opinion is perfect right next to all the hustle and bustle. First of all, there’s the pro that most of the pool parties hosted in Magaluf are actually in the beach club that is on site which obviously means free entry. Then there’s a corner shop, strip club and kebab shop right next door. The hotel is directly opposite BCM which is the biggest super club in the whole of Europe. 30 seconds down the road is coco bongos bar, a McDonald’s, a bank and a burger king. Then a 5-minute stroll from the hotel is the beach front, which does get quite busy during the day time and is secretly costly (€4.5 euros per sunbed, and then and extra 4.50 if you want a parasol). Moreover, the hotel is in a prime location no matter what type of holiday you've visited for.

Service:
The service at the BH is amazing, every member of staff is constantly smiling and give off a happy to help vibe. They speak English well which is perfect. The cleaners do a check every day, they’ll come in, sweep, mop, change the towels, bed sheets and tissues if need be, however, a couple of times they changed our sheets to a sheet with stains which caused a few issues. The lifeguards round the pool are very efficient and enforce the pool rules strongly. They will correct anyone who is acting against them e.g. running, doing backflips, too drunk, harassment etc, and they’re also very friendly.
All inclusive (Food & Drink)
Personally, I am a very fussy eater, I like things at a certain standard and to taste a certain way, and if I’m honest, the food here was pretty decent.
Breakfast
Breakfast is from 9-11.30am and is the standard variety that you would get from any hotel. In one section you’re provided with the hot foods, such as scrambled egg (Which is quite wet and mushy), fried egg, beans, sausage, bacon (which I’m not a fan of), hash browns and potatoes. Then in the other section you’re provided with pastries, bread, fruit and cereal. Then in the final section is all the teas, hot chocolates, coffees, and juices. I think the breakfast caters for everyone, whether you’re on a strict diet or in need of some hangover food it’s a great start to the day.

Bar
The bar is open from 11am -7pm which is the same time the pool opens which is definitely when the party begins. From 11am you have full access to alcoholic beverages from a sex on the beach and a Pina-colada, to a rum and coke or a vodka lemonade. I read quite a few reviews about the annoyance of only being able to collect one drink at a time but if I’m honest I don’t actually see the issue with it. Yes, the queue does get a little long sometimes, but you’re not going to drink two drinks at the same time are you!
Lunch
Lunch is from 1pm – 3pm and is pretty much a lighter version of dinner. At Lunch they tend to do more foods like nuggets and burgers, sometimes ribs and BBQ chicken. They change the drinks from coffee and teas to wines, beers and fizzy drinks on tap and they bring out the ICECREAM!
Dinner
Dinner is held from 6.30 – 9pm For dinner they run a different type of night every evening which was quite nice as it provides a variety of food to eat every single night. Whilst we were there we experienced, Arabic, Chinese, Indian, Spanish, Italian and Mexican night and if you’re not the type to try new foods they ALWAYS have chicken & chips or spaghetti Bolognese to eat. At dinner the room is also split into 4 sections, drinks on the left, salads and cold food in the middle left, ice-cream desserts and fruits middle right, and hot food on the right and it’s like that every single night so you’ll never be confused!

Pool:
All together there are 3 pools, waterslides, a jacuzzi and a wave pool. I’d say that all the pools need to be upgraded as the concrete is very visible which actually prevented me and my partner from actually using them as it was so unappealing. The sunbeds are free if you’re staying there and the secret rule of 'if you’re towels down it’s yours' does apply as no one moves them. There’s an option to be in VIP which then is €250 euros minimum spend, which works out fine if you are with a group of people, but as we were 2 it was too much and yes, the water is FREEZING when you first get in, but you get used to it.
Check out:
The check-out service is pretty fast, you have to be checked out by 11am which gives you enough time to have breakfast, you get your deposit back, and are able to put your cases in the luggage rooms. They change your wristband from all-inclusive to access only which stops you from being able to access any of the all-inclusive benefits, but you can upgrade for a one-day pass at an extra cost.

Issues:
We only had one major issue.. Ants. About the second night in we had noticed like 2-3 ants hanging around in our bedroom and as londoners we just stepped on them and dealt with it thinking nothing of it. By about the 4th day it was maybe about 7 ants. The day before we left we had about 50-60 ants running around in this one area in the living space and I panicked. I was itching and scratching and running and squirming and it just wouldn’t stop. So, we rung down to the desk and told them that there were ants running around in our room. Within 2 minutes someone was upstairs with a spray, moving the furniture and spraying all the corners in the suite. She killed and cleaned every ant in the room and demolished any hope the ants may have had of coming back. We still don’t know why they were there, but they were, and they were dealt with efficiently.
Overall, aside from some of the disappointments that we experienced during our stay, we really did enjoy our holiday with BH Mallorca. It is the perfect hotel if you’re going to get drunk and party or even if you're looking to do a little bit of both like we did. We'd definitely recommend this hotel and me and my partner would stay here again in a heartbeat. Overall we’d rate this hotel 4/5.
Thank you for reading and don't forget to subscribe(:
